The D-Link DGS-1016D is a 16-port unmanaged Gigabit switch designed to help provide wired connectivity into small business, retail, education, gaming, and home office networks. With sixteen 1GbE ports in a compact, metal, fan-less housing, it helps connect desktops, laptops, POS terminals, printers, NAS, access points, IP cameras (with separate power), media streamers, game consoles, and other Ethernet devices without adding fan noise to your home or workspace.

A front-panel 3-pin DIP switch gives you hardware access to several network-related features. You can enable or disable Energy-Efficient Ethernet (EEE) to help reduce power usage during quieter periods, turn on Flow Control to help reduce packet drops on busy links, and use Storm Control and Port Isolation to help contain broadcast traffic and separate ports. IEEE 802.1p QoS support can help give higher priority to traffic that is marked for services like voice or video. Cable diagnostics indicators on the front panel help identify potential cabling issues, while auto MDI/MDI-X and auto-negotiation support straightforward plug-and-play setup -no software, login, or configuration required.

The DGS-1016D features a fan-less design for quiet operation and a rack-mountable metal housing that fits standard 19-inch racks or can sit on a desk or shelf. It supports IEEE 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet and follows NDAA/TAA sourcing standards, making it suitable for a variety of commercial and public sector environments.
