Challenges

Service stations require round-the-clock, reliable connectivity to enable the ability to take quick payments. All network devices needed to be able to be centrally managed from the main office.

Solutions

For the hardware, D-Link’s Nuclias Connect AC1300 Wave 2 Dual-Band PoE Access Point (DAP-2610) was deployed throughout all the service stations. With zero-touch deployment, they can be rapidly mounted on the wall and set up. There was no need to deploy an engineer to every location. The device simply needed connecting to the internet, and they were up and going.

With max speeds up to 1300 Mbps and a Gigabit LAN port for high capacity backhaul to the wired network, the DAP-2610 more than covers the standards of connectivity POS systems need. Other features such as MU-MIMO and beamforming ensure devices always get high-quality, stable connectivity, so there is no delay in taking payments.

Nuclias presented itself as the essential tool for centrally managing all the Access Points. With the management software being free of charge and APs being totally license-free, Nuclias is excellent value for the business and can help keep budgets in check.

The Nuclias Connect Software allows the administrator in the main office to have full visibility of all connected APs through the intuitive dashboard. They can stay informed with real-time statistics on network usage, as well as identify potential issues by taking remedial steps in advance to prevent any downtime.

Nuclias also offers business-grade security features such as 192-Enterprise Encryption to better protect wireless communications, including customer payment data from falling into the wrong hands.  Meanwhile, other features such as  MAC  address white/ blacklists allow the admin to whitelist only approved POS devices to connect to the network, ensuring extra levels of security to better protect connected devices,  and mitigate potential nefarious intent.
